In the mobile Slack app, managing notifications requires a slightly different approach. Make sure to adjust your notification settings by tapping You at the bottom right, then Notifications. Customize alerts per channel or set a general preference.

When using Slack to mark messages as read, users may encounter various issues, particularly with notifications and the Mark All as Read function. Addressing these concerns effectively can enhance your Slack experience.
If you notice persistent notifications even after marking messages as read, start by checking your notification settings. Go to Preferences > Notifications in Slack to ensure it's set up correctly. Make sure that your preferences, such as “Notify me about replies to threads I’m following,” align with your needs.
Sometimes, notifications may not clear because they are tied to specific activities or channel settings. Try muting unnecessary channels to reduce clutter. If you’re still facing issues, consider restarting the app or clearing the cache to refresh the interface.
If the Mark All as Read function fails, verify whether you are using the correct method for your platform. On desktop, you can click on the Unreads section and select Mark All Messages Read or use the Shift + Esc shortcut.
If these options do not work, it could be a syncing issue. Logging out and back into your account can help. In some cases, simply refreshing the application can resolve the problem.
